Analogies

Comparisons between two pairs of things that share a similar relationship, used to explain an unfamiliar concept by connecting it to a familiar one. On standardized tests, analogies often appear in the format 'A is to B as C is to D.'
Examples
- Glove is to hand as sock is to foot (covering relationship)
- Author is to book as painter is to canvas (creator to creation)
- Puppy is to dog as kitten is to cat (young to adult)
