Degree to radian conversion

Math

Definition

Degrees and radians are two units for measuring angles. To convert between them, use the fact that 180° equals π radians. Multiply degrees by π/180 to get radians, or multiply radians by 180/π to get degrees.

Examples

  • 90° × π/180 = π/2 radians
  • π/4 radians × 180/π = 45°
  • 360° = 2π radians, a full circle
Key Fact

Radians = Degrees × π/180; Degrees = Radians × 180/π
