Francophone countries are nations where French is an official language or widely spoken. French is spoken across multiple continents including Europe, Africa, North America, and the Caribbean. There are over 30 countries where French holds official status.

Examples

  • France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Luxembourg in Europe
  • Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, and Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa
  • Canada (especially Quebec) and Haiti in the Americas
