Ottoman empire
Definition
A vast empire founded by Turkic warriors in 1299 that grew to control much of southeastern Europe, western Asia, and North Africa, lasting until 1922. At its height under Suleiman the Magnificent, it was one of the most powerful states in the world, known for religious diversity, military strength, and architectural achievements.
