Definition

Renewable energy sources are naturally replenished on a human timescale and produce little to no greenhouse gas emissions during operation. They include solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass energy.

Examples

  • Solar panels converting sunlight into electricity on rooftops
  • Wind turbines generating power in open plains
  • Hydroelectric dams using flowing water to spin turbines
