Definition

Unit circle values are the exact sine, cosine, and tangent values at key angles (0°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 90° and their multiples) that students memorize for quick reference. These values are derived from the coordinates of points on the unit circle.

Examples

  • sin(30°) = 1/2, cos(30°) = √3/2, tan(30°) = √3/3
  • sin(45°) = √2/2, cos(45°) = √2/2, tan(45°) = 1
  • sin(60°) = √3/2, cos(60°) = 1/2, tan(60°) = √3
