Bar graphs
MathDefinition
A type of data display that uses rectangular bars to represent quantities for different categories. The height (or length) of each bar corresponds to the value it represents. Bar graphs are best for comparing discrete categories.
Examples
- A bar graph showing the number of students in each grade level at a school
- Comparing monthly sales figures for different products using side-by-side bars
