Interest groups
Definition
Organized groups of people who share common goals and try to influence government policy through lobbying, campaign contributions, and public advocacy. Unlike political parties, interest groups do not run candidates for office but instead seek to shape specific policies.

- The National Rifle Association (NRA) lobbying Congress on gun legislation
- The AARP advocating for policies benefiting senior citizens
- The Sierra Club pushing for environmental protection laws
