Definition

Seasons vocabulary covers the four times of year (spring, summer, fall, winter) and associated weather, activities, and cultural events. In French, the seasons are le printemps, l'été, l'automne, l'hiver; in Spanish, la primavera, el verano, el otoño, el invierno.

Examples

  • En hiver, il neige souvent. (In winter, it often snows.)
  • Me gusta nadar en verano. (I like to swim in summer.)
  • Im Frühling blühen die Blumen. (In spring the flowers bloom.)
Key Fact

French uses 'en' for most seasons (en été, en automne, en hiver) but 'au' for spring (au printemps)
